Tahini Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup tahini
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter at room temperature
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions
 

Prep

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Cream

  • In a large bowl, cream together the tahini, brown sugar, white sugar, and butter until light and fluffy.

  • Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.

Combine Dry Ingredients

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
    1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp baking soda, 1/2 tsp salt
  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  • Stir in the chocolate chips.
    1 cup chocolate chips

Bake

  • Use a cookie scoop or spoon to form dough balls, and place them onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
